Nairobi is regarded as Kenya's capital city. It is also considered safari capital of Kenya. This city is indeed one of the busiest cities in the place and it has a lot of things to offer that people from all over the world must see.
Travel
Travelling to Nairobi is easy. Being the capital of Kenya, Nairobi houses the biggest airport in Central Africa which is the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport. This airport is served by almost twenty topmost airlines which delivers both international and domestics flights. You can choose to go for the shuttle service or ride a taxi upon the arrival at the airport.
Transportation when going around the city is also very accessible. Nairobi has a large number of minibuses (called Matatu), that service the city. However, this means of transportation often carries a lot of passengers and are usually jam-packed during peak hours.
Another option to get around town is through the taxis. On the other hand, the taxis here do not have meters and some drivers charge too much for each travel. The main area of the city may be navigated under your own steam. However, this is not advised to be done, especially at night for some security reasons.
Climate
Unlike other places is Africa that have sweltering weather, Nairobi has a temperate climate. Summer season is from December until March, rainy or autumn season is between March and June, while winter season is from June to September. With these things in mind, you could further choose when to visit the place.
Events
Nairobi does not belong to the category of most festive cities. However, they have a small amount of events that tourists may surely enjoy. Nairobi celebrates The Kenya Music Festival which is considered the best-known festival in the city. This is done in August and the celebration lasts for 10 days. Nairobi also celebrates an Air Show that includes aerobatics and skydiving which is done annually. During the Christmas season, the city holds the Crafts of Africa show wherein native crafts are set on-display and sold to tourists and residents as well.
Attractions
Nairobi also has a lot of sights that one must not miss while on tour around the city. Since Nairobi is considered as Safari capital of Kenya, tourists should not fail to spot on the places like Nairobi National Park, Safari Park, Snake Park and Giraffe Centre.
For people who prefer a more cultural and historical trip, they should visit the Parliament House, Bomas of Kenya, Uruhu Gardens and the famous religious buildings such as Jamia Mosque, Khoja Mosque and All Saints Cathedral.
Kenya is indeed rich in wonderful tourist options. Your visit to the place will surely pay out especially when you are after attractive sceneries coupled by wildlife. Your travel will always be supported by their pleasant modes of transportation as well as their very temperate climate.
