Swords Castle
Built around 12th century, the castle served as the manorial residence of the Archbishops of Dublin. The castle, pentagonal in shape, covers a huge area of 1.5 acres. Later in the 19th century, the area was in use as a garden. Recently undergoing innovation, the place is about to turn into a centre of attraction for tourists.
Skate Park
Constructed in the mid 2006, the Skate Park is the brainchild of the local authority in Swords, Ireland. The skate park stands adjacent to a basketball court in the town of swords. A bowl, a vertwall, a spine and some quarter pipes comprise the park.
St Cronan’s Parish
The town of Swords has a number of revered churches and places of worship. At the St Cronan’s Parish, daily mass is held at 10:00 am from Monday through Saturday. Mass timings on Sundays are between 9:00 am and 11 am and between 12:30 pm and 5:30 pm.
Malahide (4.32 km)
It is a tiny seaside town. Malahide, though cosmopolitan in character, has managed to retain its old world charm even today. Among the many attractions that the small town offers, the major ones include Malahide Marina and the Velvet Strand beach. Apart from this, the magnificent sea views that Malahide offers is something to never forget.
Croke Park (10.56 km)
If you are in Swords, you wouldn’t mind to cover a few kilometers to visit the largest sports stadium in the whole of Ireland. The stadium also functions as the headquarters of the Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA).
North Bull Island (10.81 km)
For visitors to Swords, the North Bull Island (Bull Island for short) is a must see place. The island features a sandy beach which runs along its entire length. The island measures 5 km in length and 800 m in width.
