Once the ‘not so famous’ city of Vishakhapatnam has today become a major tourist hot spot for India. Initially the Andhra Pradesh (the North Indian state in which the city of Vishakhapatnam is situated) government wasn’t ever interested in promoting this beautiful city. But tourists have the habit of searching for destinations worth visiting all by themselves and same was the case with this city of Vishakhapatnam. Slowly the number of tourists started to rise even though the local government was least concerned. This rise in number of tourists clicked into the brains of the state government and finally they started working officially to develop the tourism industry of Vishakhapatnam. This was the time when the city of Vishakhapatnam grew as a tourist hot spot and since then it hasn’t ever looked back.

Don’t be surprised if someone calls Vishakhapatnam as the beach city of India. Presence of multiple beaches has been the most important reason why the city has become so famous when it comes to tourist hot spots in India. You will regularly come across scenes like foreign tourists enjoying sun bath on these beaches. This has now become a regular sight on the beaches of Vishakhapatnam.

Bhimili is one of the few very famous beaches for the city of Vishakhapatnam. The village named Bheemunipatnam is located approximately 25 km from the city of Vishakhapatnam and Bhimili beach is part of this village itself. The lush green environment and cool breeze which flows from the ocean is what attracts the tourists towards this beach.

R. K. Beach is another very famous beach for the city of Vishakhapatnam. Climatic conditions aren’t ever a problem for the tourists that visit this beautiful beach. Be it the hot summers or the cold winters, you will always find a huge chunk of foreign as well as local tourists flocking the R. K. Beach. The name of this beach has gone down considerably due to numerous cases of drowning which have occurred in this beach. Hence many tourists prefer to enjoy the beauty of the beach by loitering on the sand itself.

Located around half an hour by road from the city of Vishakhapatnam is the untouched natural location called as Kambalakonda. Rarely do people visit this lush green place and hence it is yet untouched from the human touch.
