Patna, the capital of Bihar (a state in East India), is the major hub for various political, administrative, and educational works of Bihar. Along with all this regular stuff Patna is also famous for its rich culture and historical monuments which have slowly become a must watch for many tourists.
One of the major trading centers and a place to watch is the area which is surrounded by walls on all sides. This is rather an old area and is known as the Patna City. It is used for most of the trading works which takes place in Patna. In last couple of decades Patna has become an important tourist destination for foreign tourists and tourism industry has become an important role player in divining the economy of Patna.
Hanuman Mandir (which means temple of Hindu God Hanuman) is located near Patna Railway Station and thus is very easy place to visit for tourists. The traditional days to worship the temple are Tuesdays and Saturday and as a result the temple experiences lengthy queues for people who want to pay a visit to their God. The temple is famous amongst the tourists for its design and for the craze which the Hindus have for the temple in their hearts.
Maner Sharif is another famous tourist spot in Patna. The shrine is located around 30 kilometers by road from Patna and it one can easily visit this place by hiring a local taxi. This shrine was built in memory of Shah Daulat and his father Makhdoom Yahya Maneri.
Imarat - E - Shariya is another famous monument which one must visit once he plans to visit Patna. This building is actually the Shariyat, which is responsible for setting and looking after the rules for Muslims of West Bengal, Orrisa, Jharkhand, Bihar, and all other Indian states in the North East. Its huge reach makes it an important place for the Muslim leaders.
Agam Kuan is a famous well in Patna which was built somewhere during the rule of Ashoka. Its history and the stories attached to it are the ones which attract huge number of local as well as foreign visitors.
