Jabalpur Sights and Landmarks Guide, India
Jabalpur is an important tourist spot in central India and is located in the state of Madhya Pradesh. This city has lots of tourist spots and has always been famous on the tourism map of India for historical monuments and natural hot spots.
Dhuandhar is the famous natural waterfall which is around 25 kilometers from the city of Jabalpur. The name Dhuandhar is derived from the Hindi word Dhuan (which actually means smoke). This name was chosen as the water droplets which flow in air after water falls on ground get concentrated to give them the look of vapors or smoke. Dhuandhar is famous for its scenic and natural beauty and it is one of the very rare natural waterfalls in India as many have been converted into dams. During the rainy season when water is flowing to the max then this dam of Dhuandhar is a famous hot spot for the city of Jabalpur.
The marble rocks of Bhedaghat are other famous tourist hot spots in the city of Jabalpur. These rocks are located around 25 kilometers from the city of Jabalpur. These rocks are actually situated in the District of Jabalpur right on the sides of Narmada River. These marble rocks have the height of over 100 feet and they are found on both sides of River Narmada. They are worth watching due to their natural beauty. Slow waters, sparkling sunlight, white beds of rock, and the quiet surroundings all make up a perfect picnic spot for those who want to run away from the fast lives of metros. The beauty of white limestone and thin lines of black or dark green volcanic rocks is a sight to behold. This mix of color in rock bed is the reason that so many tourists are attracted towards the river banks.
The famous Rani Durgavati Museum and the memorial is another tourist spot which attracts many tourists. The museum boasts of many manuscripts, relics, and inscriptions all related to Queen Durgavati. These historical remains are enough to attract many towards it.
Bargi Dam is another famous tourist spot and the recently started cruise boat, which takes you to the reservoir of this dam, has become an important tourist spot for those who visit this city of Jabalpur.
