Basilique Saint Sernin

It is the largest Romanesque church in France. Christ’s resurrection is depicted on the tympanum of the PORTE MIEGEVILLE.

Hotel d’Assezat

The famous pastel merchant Pierre d’Assezat got this splendid city Palais erected in 1558 and it is located at a corner of RUE DE METZ. It is flanked on two sides by PONT NEUF and PLACE ESQUIROL. Now it houses one of the oldest and most distinguished literary institutions in Europe - the ACADEMIE DES JEUX FLORAUX founded by the troubadours.

Musee du Vieux Toulouse

The whole history of Toulouse right from its inception has come alive in this museum housing all the historical and artistic materials used by its inhabitants from the days of its genesis.

Le Capitole

One entire side/façade of the central PLACE DU CAPITOLE is taken up by this town hall and beneath its intricately carved arches lie the shopping joints and the dining haunts of the buzzing city. Behind the town hall stands the magnificent DONJON or a defensive tower belonging to the renaissance era.

Cathedrale Saint Etienne

Toulouse abounds in cathedrals. This particular magnificent cathedral is a standing testimony of the northern French gothic architecture. Naturally the architectural style is a conglomeration of different architectural influences from different periods.
