Lyon Nightlife, France

 The night life in Lyon seems to provide something for everybody.  In fact in a survey of France’s night life Lyon ranked second only to Paris.  From small, cozy bars, to large, lively night clubs the city does all it can to please both the locals and the many tourists that flood into Lyon each year. 

The Ecole Suisse de Langue (the language school) produces a weekly bulletin which lists activities and cultural events happening in the next seven days.  It includes events to suit every taste and budget so visitors to Lyon will never suffer from lack of entertainment in the evening.  Whether you like to eat, drink, dance, or have relaxing conversation with friends, Lyon has no shortage of venues to provide for your needs.  

The Albion Bar This bar is situated in Lyon’s Rue Ste-Catherine.  It is an English bar and serves a wide selection of drinks and cocktails.  Most nights there is jazz or blues music to listen to, or, if sports is y our thing, then you can watch major events on one of two big screen televisions.

Le First Tendency   This is Lyon’s main nightclub with a capacity for 600 people and plenty of room for dancing.  It is decorated in traditional Lyon style and is popular among locals and tourists alike.  This club is situated on Place Jules Ferry, 69006 Lyon.

La Voile - Ice Club This night club in Lyon’s Quai Marechal Joffre provides mostly electronic music.  As well as the disco there is a large terrace on which to relax and enjoy the wonderful food and friendly atmosphere.

Le Fridge Lyon’s Le Fridge club has a large dancefloor and attracts a young crowd of both Lyon locals and visitors to the area.  The music is mostly techno, house, hip-hop, and R&B from both past and present.  It is situated on Lyon’s Rue des Rancy.

Loft Club The Loft Club is situated on Lyon’s Rue Renan Angle Rue d’Anvers.  With its relaxed atmosphere and wide range of music genres the club has gained a certain amount of fame in the city and surrounding locale. 

Koubalibre Lyon’s Koubalibre has a little bit of everything.  It is a very popular place for wedding and anniversary celebrations as well as the normal activities that are provided most evenings.  The selection of entertainments include a disco, a wide variety of live music, karaoke, and a very popular restaurant. 

Koubalibre is situated on Lyon’s Rue du Palais de Justice.  For those who just prefer to stroll around the city there is still plenty to see at night.  Lyon is illuminated by 1,000 lights and 100,000 projectors are used to illuminate places of culture and heritage.  These lights also serve to show off the city’s night birds and make an evening stroll through Lyon a walk to remember.
