Le Mans Nightlife, France
Le Mans nightlife does not have so much of excitement, activity or liveliness as Paris or a Rennes, but you can be sure of one thing – you will not have to sit locked in your hotel room. Being a gourmet’s paradise, Le Mans offers you different cuisines to taste apart from drinks. While most of the bars and pubs are close to the Place de la Republique, the Old Town is full of fine-dining venues. Guests are served well past mid-night at most of Le Mans nightlife venues.
Le Mans Nightlife – Restaurants
Le Mans eateries offer varied cuisines. If you are in no mood to taste anything other than French food, walk up to the Old City area and you will find some very good French restaurants - La Ciboulette (at 14 rue de la vielle porte), Le Grenier A Sel (at 26 place de l'Eperon) and Le Nez Rouge (at 107 Grande rue). Auberge des 7 Plats (at 79, Grande Rue) is a bar-cum-restaurant sharing the Old City address.
Le Mans also has specialty cuisine restaurants; La Cantina is famous for its Mexican and South-American dishes, Au Bonheur D'Asie and Le Lotus D’OR for their Asian foods, Le Yume for its Japanese fare and so on.
Le Mans Nightlife – Bars and Nightclubs
Le Mans bars and nightclubs have very few visitors on weekdays but they are fully packed on weekend nights. Starting again with the Old Town addresses; Le Pilier Rouge, one of the city’s heritage buildings at 5 rue du Pilier Rouge, has been converted to a full-bar. Le Saint-Pierre, at 7 place Saint-Pierre, is another popular bar (this one is close to the Town Hall).
The modern town center, Place de la Republique, have many bars/pubs nearby. Le Berry is a beer pub at 27 Place de la Republique and Le Mulligan’s is an Irish pub at 44 Rue du Docteur Leroy. Le Passeport du cochon vert, 25 place d'Alger, is the other option you have.
Le Mans also has a couple of few gay bars; both La Limite (at 7, Rue Saint-Honore) and L'Arc en ciel (at 2 rue Doree) are in the old city.
Le Mans has at least one decent nightclub – Le Nulle Part Ailleurs at 43, rue des Ponts Neufs. The club is open on all days of the week except Monday and here you can dance your night away.
