Porvoo Nightlife, Finland
They say Finn people are too quiet and too peaceful, but it is not true. They all have a way of enjoying life and its pleasures. Nightlife in Porvoo can be as lively as in any city in Europe. You will find, in the core of the medieval city, a wide range of restaurants and bars, all inviting you to spend a pleasant evening in the company of the beloved ones.
Porvoo Nightlife- Restaurants and Bars
You will find in the core of the historic center many restaurants and bars, all having an alluring and coquette atmosphere. Wanha Laamanni Restaurant is just near the medieval cathedral of Porvoo, housed in an 18th century wooden building. The menu proposes Finn and international specialties that could be accompanied by wines from the big cave of the restaurant – opened all year round.
Restaurant Timbaali, near the pedestrian area is the only restaurant in Finland specialized in escargot. During summer time there is also a courtyard, with a lovely terrace that can welcome up to 100 customers. Don’t forget the restaurant is situated on the river bank and during summer time you can benefit of the sunshine and the street turmoil.
Walgren’s, besides the various dishes, offers the best choice of beers in Porvoo – opened all year round. If you happen to travel by boat you can moor at the terrace of the Restaurant Wilhelm A, with a very large choice – opened April till September.
Speaking of boats, you can have dinner on the Boat-Restaurant Gluckauf, renowned for the quality of its menu – opened daily during summer.
Porvoo Nightlife- Bars and Pubs
For those who are looking for bars and pubs, you can spend your evenings at Amarillo Restaurant, a typical restaurant where you can have a glass of wine and enjoy your chat with friends.
Seireeni Day&Night is a night club with different parties and shows for each night. There are also very chic and nice places where you may spend some lovely moments, such as Cellar Café, Café Fanny or Bar&Café Porvoon Paahtimo. For those who are missing the Spanish dishes there is Restaurant Sevilla, opened from 11 a.m. to 24 p.m.
For night clubbers and dance lovers there are: Bar & Nightclub Onnela, Hotel-Restaurant Seurahovi, Restaurant Nevada with karaoke, billiard and live music, but maybe the best place to visit is Tanssisaari, the dance island, an open air dance hall with balls, celebrations, concerts, dances organized from June to the end of August.
