If you are looking for great nightlife in Oulu, Finland, you will not have a problem finding it.  There are plenty of places that you can go to for a great night out in town!  Kaarlenholvi is a very popular nightclub and pub where people of all ages can have some fun. 

Club Teatria is the biggest indoor rock club in the country and is a venue where rock concerts are held, where international and Finnish rock stars give performances.  Amarillo is a tex-mex restaurant that has disco for dance and pop sounds in its basement.

Never Grow Old is a small lounge and bar that has a variety of live performances, which include ska, brazilectro, reggae, jazz, salsa, funk, and soul.  Another club that features a variety of music is Onnela.  This is a famous club that has four stories with four different types of music on every floor, which include Finnish pop, dance, rock, and 80s music.

Nightclub Tähti is a nightclub for adults, and has performances of traditional dancing every weekend.  Another club like this is Hietasaaren Tanssimajakka, which is a traditional dance spot for adult audiences as well and it is open on the weekends during the summer.

45 Special is an extremely popular club that is located in the city's center and has predominant performances of live rock music and invited DJs on special nights.  It has been open since 1990, with two floors.  In 1997, a third floor was added and it is known as the attic.  Then in May 2008, the second floor was reshaped completely.  It is an extremely popular hangout for students to party and is involved in many big events in town, such as the Rotuaari Piknik Festival and the Oulu Music Video Festival, being the main venue.  The club is open every night from 8pm to 4am, and it only opens to those who are 19 or older, with the exception of band nights for 18 year olds from Sunday to Thursday.

Another popular place is Hevimesta, which is a rock and heavy metal club, and it is one of the most popular for these genres of music in the city.  Once each week, Hevimesta hosts a special karaoke night for heavy metal.  This club also had a venue in Helsinki, however, it closed down in 2007.

There are so many varieties of clubs in Oulu that you will also find a gay bar, Bar Becksu, but it is also heterosexual friendly.
