La Romana Nightlife, Dominican Republic

La Romana is a major tourist attraction in the Dominican Republic. The city is considered as one of the luxurious and most complete tourist resort communities in the entire Caribbean.

The night life offered by La Romana is somewhat subdued, compared to the high voltage entertainment provided by places like Las Vegas or Paris. Still, for the discerning tourist, the night life in La Romana would be a more relaxing experience and somewhat exotic than that of many other more famous tourist spots in the world. 

Casa de Campo

The Casa de Campo situated across the Dulce River in La Romana is considered as one of the ten best tourist complexes in the world and the most complete in the Caribbean. Casa de Campo had attracted notable personalities like Elizabeth Taylor, Shakira, George Hamilton, and even former President George H. Bush. The world famous golf course, Teeth of the Dog and other courses like Links, Dye Fore, etc. are renowned around the globe, attracting golfers. However, Casa de Campo also boasts of restaurants and bars with a distinct Caribbean flavor and flair in the full-service marina. The marina could accommodate large yachts of 250-feet length also. Galleries, boutiques, and jewelers also provide the required diversion for the nightlife loving tourist. The private beach, spa area, pool, sport shooting, and horseback riding would also offer adequate enjoyment and relaxation to fun lovers. 

Altos de Chavon Cultural Center 

The center designed primarily to promote artists from all parts of the globe is another place where nightlife fans could have enjoyable times. The restaurants, shops, galleries, and artist studios in stone and coral buildings, replicating a Tuscan village of 16th century, are a treat to the eyes in Altos de Chavon. This art complex also possesses a 5,000- seat semicircle amphitheater. This was inaugurated by Carlos Santana and Frank Sinatra in 1982. Concerts, festivals, and theater events are a regular feature here. World famous artists like Dizzy Gillespie, Gloria Estefan, and Julio Iglesias, had performed in this amphitheater. A school of design, art gallery, and an archeology museum are also present in this complex. 

More exotic nightlife spots 

Apart from the above tourist complexes that offer nightlife and entertainment for the whole family, there are several hotels, bars, casinos, and nightclubs in La Romana where you would be able to let your hair down. The local drinks with exotic mixtures at the pubs are a specialty of La Romana. Open bars, beach parties, and discos are always on, with music, dance, and drinks providing you a nice high. The casinos are always open and the dancing in the clubs and bars goes on till dawn. After a wild night, you could stroll in the beaches for a relaxed winding down.  The Venta Club Gran Dominicus Hotel offers you meringue dance at the bar and open air discothèque on the beach behind their Pasta e Pizza restaurant. Hotel Canoa Coral by Hilton, Sunscape Casa Del Mar, Viva Wyndham Dominicus Palace, and Santana Beach Resort are some of the places you could check out for a terrific nightlife in La Romana. There is some kind of nightlife for everyone in La Romana. Whether your taste is romantic or relaxing, sophisticated or wild, the lively and vibrant atmosphere of the La Romana would definitely hold you down with its enchanting nightlife and exotic drinks.
