Havana Nightlife, Cuba
If you are looking for an incredibly fun and lively nightlife, Havana is the city to be in. Whether you want to talk or go out dancing, you will be able to find multiple places to talk and dance the night away. You will experience a great part of Cuban society where all you see are happy faces with vibrant spirits dancing free releasing themselves from the stresses of everyday life.
First, you can get yourself a cheap drink at a variety of bars in Havana such as one of the writer’s Ernest Hemingway favorite bars at the Bodeguita del Medio or you can go to El Floridita which is another restaurant and bar that commemorates Ernest Hemingway with their own version of the “Hemingway Special”.
Join in on local parties along the Malecón where Cubans go to hang out along the sea for a fun night of drinking and dancing every weekend. It is a great place to have a fun relaxed time and to meet some interesting locals. You can also check out the Tropicana Show which is a cabaret show popular in Cuba.
Music in Cuba is one of a kind. There are not a lot of people who can feel the music as Cubans do. Between the lyrics, the beats and the dancing there is nothing better. La Tropical is a great hot spot for live music. However it is only open when there are going to be performances. The information is normally posted all around the city when there is a show. If you are looking for a little jazz and funk, you can go to La Zorra y el Cuervo for live music. The Hotel Nacional also has live performances of some of the larger names in the Cuban music industry such as Omara Portuondo.
Cubans are also infamous for the Salsa skills. If you want to learn a new move head on over to the Casa de la Musica de Centro Habana where live salsa bands play while locals and foreigners shake it all night long. You will need tickets to get in and the price varies as to who will be playing that night.
If you are looking to have a fun night, it is impossible to miss one in Havana. Cubans are fun spirited and big hearted. They love to enjoy themselves. Join in the Cuban spirit by participating in their local dances going to the bar and listening to their national music.
