Zhuzhou is a picturesque city located in southeastern China, within Hunan Province, 251 miles from Wuhan and 296 miles from Liuzhou. Zhuzhou travel guide presents a few basic facts about the city and its points of interest.

The city is connected with other important locations in China by several railways and a modern high-speed railway, all making transfer from one city to another as easy as ever. Tourists can also reach Zhuzhou by car on one of the modern speed ways crossing the city or by boat. The local port is a frequent stop for many cargo ships transporting different goods all the way to Yangtze River and beyond.

One of the most important and unique festival in Zhuzhou is the Zhuzhou Yandi Festival. The event is held every year in October and celebrates the memory of one of the most famous Chinese ancestors, who developed traditional medicine, agriculture and more for the benefit of his people. The festival has a rather traditional character thus the manifestations take place near Yandi’s tomb and include lighting a sacred fire and of course traditional singing and dancing. The event is a very important one also due to the presence of the national hero’s tomb in Zhuzhou.
