Xuzhou, China nightlife is not comparable to the nightlife of the Western hemisphere. In this city, there are a few bars and amusement centers for night revelers. However, the major nighttime relaxation of the local residents is provided by visits to the cinemas and the several gymnasiums & fitness centers, as well as the famous Chinese tea houses.

Xuzhou Drive for Nightlife

Xuzhou had started a few special festivals to give a boost to the city’s nightlife. Every year, in August, the Pengcheng Beer Festival is held in the city and thousands of locals and tourists throng the festival. People drink beer, sing, and dance through the night and bystanders cheer and applaud outstanding performances. Another festival called the Bar Culture Festival had been started in 2006. This festival is conducted for a month from March 18 to April 18, with the focus on the promotion of wine. Xuzhou Bars

The bars of Xuzhou are concentrated in an area known as Hubu Hill in the heart of the city. The bars are built in various architectural styles. Chinese music and western music are played in all these bars regularly. The major bars in this zone are the Cool Show Bar, the Virgin Bar, the Storm Intense Emotion Bar, and the E Bar. The New Century Grand Hotel Xuzhou has got several bars for people with different tastes. Long Bar in the hotel offers all types of drinks in a relaxed atmosphere, while Punch 1840 is famous for its red wine and superior cigars. Armani is a genuine low-class nightclub in the city, where you can come across men dancing with all kinds of dirty moves and scantily clad boys dancing in a glass cube. Sometimes pimps and prostitutes might harass you here and you have to tread a very safe line with them. Red Bar, S.O.S., and Catwoman Bar near Armani are somewhat more sophisticated. Taiwan Bar located near the downtown area is not only dirty but full of drug peddlers.

Xuzhou Amusement Centers

The Gupeng Underground Amusement City situated under the Gupeng Square offers comfortable baths, massages, and traditional Chinese food, along with the drinks and music. The Square is having a musical fountain lit by multicolor lights. Sometimes, operas and dances by local groups are performed in the square to the accompaniment of traditional folk handicrafts. The other amusement and recreation centers in the city are the Top One Club and Ximatai Bowling Corporation in Jiefang Road, Zhongshantang Amusement City and Athena Karaoke Bar in East Huaihai Road, as well as Bailemen Amusement City in East Huanghe Road. Thus, nightlife in Xuzhou is somewhat low key, when compared to the nightlife encountered in western countries. However, Xuzhou is a nice place if your intention is to unwind and relax in a subdued nightlife atmosphere.
