Wuhan, China has great history and a strong, thriving present. Relics have been excavated that date back to 3500 years. There are many historical sites in this great city and natural wonder to be found as well.
Since 1927, Wuhan has been made up of three cities: Wuchange, Hanyang, and Hankou. These are located at the meeting point of the Xunshi and the Han Rivers join the Yangtze (Chan Jiang).
Wuhan is also an important center for trade, economy, transportation, finance, information and technology. Its major sectors include manufacturing industry, with steel manufacturing, biology engineering, and environmental protection.
For tourists, the Hubie Provential Museum has actual chimes that were excavated from several tombs. The Yellow Crane Tower has many inscriptions and classic poems etched into it. The Villa of Chairman Mao Zedong is a great place for Westerns to gather more information about this famous Chinese man.
Shopping is a favored pastime and is plentiful. Han Zheng Street and Hanjiang Road are filled with terrific shops. You can find the pickiest person something they will adore. These shops are contained in beautiful, traditional Chinese buildings.
Wuhan has an impressive nightlife as well. Bars, karaoke rooms, and a large assortment of restaurants await you in this great city. Street stalls in Wuhan are everywhere with a wide variety of foods, including some you may not want to try! Steamed Wuchang Fish, Fried Bean Sheets, and Re Gan Mian are favorites from the street vendors.
Lodging choices are also plentiful here, as many of the hotels cater to Westerners. An unusually long list of amenities are available, and most offer great discount packages including airfare and attraction tickets. These great package deals can be found at any online travel sights, and sometimes can be all inclusive, meaning your food is often included as well.
