Hangzhou, China, has been one of the best respected and fasting growing Chinese cities for the last 1,000 years. Hangzhou is located in the People's Republic of China, within the Yangtze River Delta. Hangzhou is considered a modern city in China. Hangzhou is home to over 6.5 million nationals and immigrants. Hangzhou has three distinct climates and is considered humid subtropical. While today the city has had many revitalizations, the population has worked very hard to maintain its culture and antiquity
Well known for its beautiful country side, Hangzhou's West Lake is a major tourist attraction.
In 1089, the governor put 200,000 workers into place to build a walkway across for visitors. . Around the West Lake you can find many of Hangzhou's oldest and most famous places, including an ancient Buddhist temple. However, there are many other temples as well.
Hangzhou's economy is now made up of many electronic and industrial companies, but textile, silk, and machinery companies have always thrived. Two of the biggest companies are now Toshiba and Wahaha, one being based in technology and the other in beverage production. Each year the economy is growing by leaps and bounds.
There are many various cultural aspects of Hangzhou, such as their long tradition of drinking assorted teas. Residents of Hangzhou are best known for enjoying green tea daily. The city culture is also recognized for its many artists. These people specialize in making silk, and umbrellas, as well as fans. Hangzhou is a city steeped in culture and antiquity. Most people believe Hangzhou is not only a great place to visit, but also a great place to live.
