Two of the biggest companies are now Toshiba and Wahaha, one being based in technology and the other in beverage production. Each year the economy is growing by leaps and bounds.

The city culture is also recognized for its many artists. These people specialize in making silk, and umbrellas, as well as fans. Hangzhou is a city steeped in culture and antiquity.
