Toronto Nightlife, Ontario

Located on the northern shore of Lake Ontario, Toronto is by far the most populous and diverse city in Canada. The incredible mix of ethnicities makes Toronto one of the most cosmopolitan cities in the world and is a possible explanation why Toronto is considered the entertainment capital of Canada. Toronto’s nightlife it definitely a unique experience: it’s like attending a never-ending global party village.

Toronto Nightlife – Restaurants

From chain dinners to award-wining restaurants, fast-food to cruise ship dining, Toronto has all types of restaurants, so numerous that you probably have to spend years in order to try them all. Many of Toronto’s top restaurants are grouped around downtown or districts like Entertainment District, Richmond Hill, College Street in Little Italy or Greektown. The list of upscale restaurants includes: Blu Ristorante & Lounge, The Waterfront Dining and Bistro Bar, Izmi Sushi or Terra Restaurant and Catering.

You also have the possibility to dine in some historic restaurants like The Chef’s House, The Old Powerhorse or The Old Barber House, or maybe enjoy a splendid view while eating at Great Cooks on Eight, Panorama Lounge and Restaurant, Cheval or Casa Mendoza Inn. Budget travelers can as well try: the Rice Bar, Messiny Authentic Gyros, Prague Fine Food Emporium, Bodega or Pourquoi Pas Restaurant.

Toronto Nightlife – Cultural Venues and Events

Toronto Nightlife – Bars and Clubs

You can easily recognize some of Toronto’s trendiest bars by their extravagant names: Sweaty Betty’s, Collision, The Social Bar, Not My Dog, the Communists Daughter, the Parkdale Drink or Strange Love. Dancers and live music addicts alike will fall in love with places like Horseshoe Tavern, Sneaky Dee’s, College Street Bar, Silver Dollar Room, Wrongbar or the Phoenix. The comedy club category is well-represented in Toronto: Yuk Yuk’s, The Comedy Bar, Absolute Comedy Club, The Second City.

For those who prefer the mesmerizing atmosphere of a nightclub, here are Toronto’s hottest: Club XS, Government, Frequency, Embassy, This is London, Nava. If you are visiting neighboring cities like Kitchene or Brantford, Toronto nightlife is definitely worth the effort of driving the 50 mile distance.
