Abbotsford History

In ancient times when gold was sent to the mint of San Francisco, thousands of inhabitants moved into this territory to make their fortune. One of the early settlers in the area was John Cunningham Maclure, who was a royal engineer and participated in building the Old Yale Road. He received a crown grant on 160 acres of land that later became the village of Abbotsford. read more
