Famous for the Calgary Stampede (when revelers are taken around the city bars and clubs in buses till late at night), Calgary is a true party city that attracts partying crowds not only from other Alberta cities but also from nearby British Columbia cities like Cranbrook.

If the Stampede-nights present one special aspect of Calgary nightlife, there is enough to spice up your regular nights as well…with its bars, cafes, casinos, clubs, live music/theatrical shows, operas, etc. there is something for everyone in this largest city of the prairie province of Alberta. Like in Edmonton, Calgary nightlife venues are concentrated in specific areas like the downtown area, Kensington and 17th Avenue. It is not that there is dearth of night-time entertainment in other parts of the city, but you simply cannot afford to miss the mirth in these specific neighborhoods.

There are some outstanding nightclubs in Calgary area – Back Alley Nightclub, Bamboo Tiki Lounge, Bermuda Triangle, Cowboys, Spin Nightclub, Tantra Nightclub and Lounge, Tequila, The Whiskey are only a few of the very popular nightspots. Most of the nightclubs have live music and you will definitely have a good time drinking and dancing. Wearing casual clothes is no crime, but you should not come in your torn jeans and trainers.
