Nantes is a small municipality in the state of Sao Paulo in Brazil.  Brazil is full of natural and cultural wonders with magnificent beaches and music fueled cities. Sao Paulo is by far the industrial and economical powerhouse of Brazil.

Nantes is a small municipal area of this state which covers an approximate area of about 286.19 square kilometers. It is located at an elevation of about 418 m. According to the survey of 2004, Nantes has a population of only 2213.

 History

 The state of Sao Paulo, in which Nantes is located is named after Saint Paul. Cultural Bonanza, Nantes does not feature much of the country’s natural beauties but is popularly known for its cultural heritage. Sao Paulo is also called as the cultural capital of the city and houses all major museums of Brazil, theaters, Nightly concerts etc.

This area is also surrounded by a large array of top class night clubs, restaurants and bars which can easily be compared with the best in the continent.  The whole sate of Sao, Paulo is a region of mixed culture as many immigrants from different parts of the world have settled in this area. The official language of the state is Portuguese and this is taught as the official language in all schools. Spanish and English are also a part of high school curriculum in Sao Paulo in large and Nantes in particular.
