Goiania, Brazil - tourist attractions 

Goiania, the capital of Goias,  is a very well planned city in central Brazil. There are some very comfortable taxi tours available at reasonable rates to take the tourists around the city.

You can go to various places in the city.  There are parks, shopping centers and museums for the days and the nights are known for the active atmosphere that is heavily based on the number of bars and nightclubs in the city.

Some parks worth visiting in Goiania include Bosque dos Buritis that is the city’s main public park. It has a beautiful small museum on the grounds.  Parque Mutirama is larger than Buritis and has walking trails and hilly terrain.

Parque Vaca Brava has a jogging track around a small lake. It is in front of Goiania Shopping and another famous park is the Parque Areiao. You can also go to the Jardim Zoologico that is a zoo at Horto-Florestal de Goiania.

There is a very popular open-air market on weekends called the Feira Hippie where you can buy some second hand goods at very cheap rates. Some good shopping centers are also there like the Shopping Flamboyant, which is the biggest and most famous shopping in the city and the Goiania Shopping, the Araguaia Shopping and the newest Buena Vista Shopping. You can pick up stuff for yourself and some souvenirs for your friends from these places.

The important museums of the city are the Museu Antropologico da Universidade Federal de Goias, Fundacao Museu de Ornitologia, Instituto Goiano de Pre-Historia e Antropologia, Museu Zoroastro Artiaga and Museu de Arte Contemporanea. You must see each to understand the history and culture of the Goiania city.

Besides these places, you can also go and see the famous football stadium, Serra Dourada and the International Racetrack ‘Ayrton Senna’ is of course another major attraction of Goiania city.
