If you prefer a night of dancing and cocktails, you may want to check out the many clubs and bars along the coastline. You can often visit the beach of Praia du Futuro and find local bands performing. On Thursday evenings, this beach is known to be the primary nightlife event. Offering a great selection of restaurants and clubs, Praia du Futuro can be the ideal place to end any day. However, this beach is also known for its many family-friendly daytime attractions, such as water games and beach sports.

When considering your restaurant choice for the evening, try Coco Bambu. This well known restaurant has unusual surroundings, including tables made of wood and sandy floors. The staff wears safari clothes.

For local food, Colher de Pau and Fogao a Lenha are great choices. For a more elegant meal, consider Peixada do Meio, a seafood restaurant located near the Iate Plaza hotel. No matter what time you venture out into the city, you will also find street vendors grilling up some tasty morsels for the locals and visitors alike.

If after dinner, you want to go clubbing, there are many to choose from. One of the largest in Fortaleza is Mucuripe Club. This newly redesigned club has six different areas inside to choose from. Music choices range from rock to jazz or techno. This club is somewhat more expensive than others in Fortaleza are, but offers an experience that cannot be found anywhere else in the city. Dress is somewhat upscale, normally trendy and up-to-date. Jeans and sneakers are frowned upon, as in most clubs within the city. A more laid back bar is Orbita. This casual bar offers many live bands that play many different genres of music. If you get there before 10 p.m., it’s free to get in. Sit back and enjoy the music, play pool, or wander up to the bar.
