Charleroi nightlife is nevertheless an important feature of the fourth largest city in Belgium. Both old and young people take part in the city’s nightlife, gathering in charming, well known places especially by themselves. Restaurants, pubs and bars, all of them contribute to the idea of having fun when going out.
Charleroi Nightlife – Great Little Bars and Pubs
Some visitors might be surprised or even scared at the thought of spending a whole night long wandering on the streets of Charleroi and trying to choose a bar that might satisfy their expectations.
The bars’ list is neither long, nor short: great little bars are considered “La Cuve a biere” placed on Boulevard Bertrand which sells a good range of beer and the staff addresses people with a friendly welcome. It is said to be a great café-bar with good atmosphere especially at weekends, situated quite close to all other small bars or eateries.
“The Star Rock Café” is another entertaining pub placed on Boulevard Tirou where those who are interested in the American theme pub idea of rock music may gather inside and party till morning. Other bars and pubs that invite people to drink, chat and have a good time are: “Le Coliseum”, “LeTunnel de la Salsa”, “the Irish Times Pub”, “Le Bahamas” or “Chez Walter”.
The Entertainment is also assured by a few nightclubs in Charleroi, situated near the station or on Place du Manege where mainly young people gather to live on the edge or just to socialize in places where music, girls and alcohol can be an interesting and attractive combination.

Being on the land of beer which can be found at any corner in Belgium, it is not difficult to choose from such a variety of beers especially since you are helped all the way by beer sellers who definitely master its history and its way of making. With beer, waffles, chocolate, cheeses and lately even foie gras, Charleroi nightlife reveals its visitors an entire gastronomic style that invite you to taste and enjoy them as there are more than 200 restaurants in the whole city.
Among the best in the process of making and serving delicious food one can enumerate: “Amor Amore”, “La Feuille de Menthe”, “Saveurs Indiennes”, “Aux Mille Colonnes”, “All’Osteria” or the “Cook-ies restaurant”.
Charleroi nightlife would not be complete without talking about the relaxing night atmosphere existing in some hotel restaurants that want to impress tourists of any age with soft good quality music, listened to in a pleasant atmosphere, full of colour, smell and laughter. This is the essence of feeling good and being relaxed after a tiring day. As its name says, it is close to the airport and also not far away from the city centre. (just 7 kilomiters).

It was the 3rd of june, 2009. It was a beautiful morning in Lille, although clouds were threatening the sun and from what I saw they were about to convince it to hide. I got up really early, at least for me, at about 7 o’clock. Shower, eating, watching the beautiful landscape on the window...
