Sankt Anton am Arlberg, Austria is a village of Tyrol located in the western part of Austria with an approximate population of around 2800. It is a well-known ski resort located at around 1300 meters above the sea level situated in Tyrolean Alps. There is a number of chair lifts, ski lifts and aerial tramways up to 2810 m and it is popular around the globe as the host of Alpine World Ski Championships during the year 2001. The village is also famous around the world for summer resort and international winter sports.
Transportation: Being a popular village, it has been well served by road, train and also air. Car services can be used to reach the village via road through Salzburg, Munich, Zurich and Stuttgart and as far as trains are concerned, this place has the Eurocity railway station. This station has been situated in the center of the village and almost all the major trains stop at this station. The nearest airports that serve this village are Salzburg, Zurich, Munich and Innsbruck.
Location: The village of Sankt Anton am Arlberg, Austria lies on Rosanna River and is situated on the major east-west railway line between Switzerland and Australia. The area has a long history of skiing and includes more than 80 ski lifts and cable cars. It also has more than 180 kms of deep snow runs and 260 kms of groomed pistes. Galzigbahn is situated on the west edge of the village replace by the Funitel gondola. Funitel connects to the Valluga and Schindler peaks and accesses the slopes of Galzig. On its eastern edge, the Nassereinerbahn links to the Kapall peaks. Schindler, Valluga and Kapall peaks give the skiers around 1500 meters of vertical skiing.
Culture: If you want to explore the culture of the village, then the Old House is the perfect example of its traditional local properties. Daily tea dances and sun terraces are held in the area in which people from different cultures and traditions come, meet and exchange their customs and beliefs. If you like skiing, you should definitely go there. The place, lying in the austrian alps, has got more than 85 lifts and about 280 kilometers of ski trails and 185 kilometers nature left trails for skiing.
