La Plata Argentina Tourist Attractions

It was originally planned to be the capital city but was not actually given the title until 2001. La Plata offers a city full of tradition and history, the city has a distinct European style. La Plata's city layout was planned long before the first brick was ever laid. It is built in a distinct square pattern with conveniently located parks and fun attractions.

Every seven blocks within the city of La Plata, a public square can be found. These public areas are considered gathering places and recreational attractions. Among the other famous attractions in La Plata, is the Cathedral. This wonderful religious institution is the largest church located within Argentina. Another must see is the Natural Sciences Museum, this wonderful hall of learning is one the five most important science establishments in the world.

If you are looking for a way to connect with nature while in La Plata, you can take in the Punta Lara beaches. Jet Skis, sail boats, and the practice of wind surfing abound in this wonderful location. There are quite a few water attractions to enjoy. You may also want to visit the 'Paseo del Bosque' which includes a fascinating observatory and zoo. This can be a great location for families with children.

At the end of a busy day you can take in one of the many theater productions at the New Argentinian Theater. The Coliseo Podestá Theatre and the Islas Malvinas Cultural Center also offer wonderful nighttime attractions. There is also a large selection of disco clubs located throughout the city center. There are also many local clubs and bars to visit for some light night fun.
