The Escorial Palace is located in the Madrid region 50 km from it. It is a huge building-sized, with a imposing past made to commemorate the victory of the Battle of San Quintin

Its construction started in 1563 under the command of King Philip the Second and completed in 1584. The building is huge, has dimensions of 208/162 meters, includes 15 galleries, 13 chapels, 16 yards, 9 towers, 86 interior staircases, has 2673 windows and 1200 doors.

Inside the palace we can visit: The Palace of Felipe II, Borbón Palace, Basilica, the convention, the museum, the royal library (the second largest in Europe), the college, the seminary, the workers hospital and of course the Panteon where are buried the kings of spain including Philip the Second and Carol the fifth.

'The Escorial Palace is located in the Madrid region 50 km from it.' - So it's located IN the region of Madrid OR 50 km far from it? 'It is a huge building-sized' - It is a huge building-sized WHAT?; 'imposing past' - Google showes only 303 matches for this expression. What do you think why?

A pinch of history can be tasted in traditional districts like Malasaña, and Lavapiés and in Madrid of Los Austrias, the Plaza Mayor, and the Palacio Real.... Read more »
