So there we are, in Tambuli Beach Resort located in Lapu-Lapu City, Cebu.

We spent some time swimming in the beach as well as on the different pools within the resort. The moment of truth arrived, some of my students insisted that we are going to have the banana ride. Only 8 people can be accomodated and I have 11 students, me and my husband that made it 13 people. I was thinking what will the remaining 5 will do, this was my concern.

4 students already said they were not going to ride so what about the 1 person it boils to me and my hubby. Told my hubby to pay up for a share of 1 person and he is going to go with the students and he said no at first. Later on he agreed, since my students lacked 1 person to go with them.

So we paid up, and my hubby said he is going to ride on the speed where the rope was tied that tagged along the inflatable pencil looking thingy. My hubby even made a joke out of it, he said it does not looked like a banana but a pencil so it should be pencil ride.

My hubby told me he is going to ride on the speed boat and not on the pencil looking thingy. My student told me beforehand one person can ride on the speed boat and it's free. So it popped up into my mind that I will be riding with my students and my husband will be on the speed boat.

It even took forever for me to hop in, good thing I manage to go up and stay on top of the inflatable pencil thingy. My hubby was holding a video camera and a digital camera to take a video and some photos on us riding.

The moment the speed boat started its engine, I felt so nervous and told myself this is it! My students were so excited and even me shouted our hearts out when it started to go and further from the resort. The guy who held the wheel started slow, and afterwards it was so fast that we were going far away from the resort I mean literally. We can even see the neighboring islands and even the back of Shang-rila Hotel, and other establishments.

It was quite a fun ride 15 mins. or so and $32 as the fee, I must say I am glad I said yes to their request.

Recommended Busuanga Guide

Busuanga History

After more than a century before the country was Christianized, an Arab missionary named Mahdum from Malacao came to introduce Islam in Sulu, which is a neighboring town of Busuanga. This religion must have spread and influenced the lives of early and present settlers in Mindanao. It’s no puzzle why our ancestors had dominance in Islamic-pagan culture long before Spain ruled for 333 years. Busuanga was named after a big river blessed by the natives after a disaster took place. After more years of struggles, the island was able to recover. Existing schools were re-opened and more were built. The United States extended its support to fund the... Read more »
