Wo liegt Köln?
Köln liegt in Rheinland Pfalz am Rhein, ein großer Fluss. Köln ist die viertgrößte Stadt in Deutschlands. 996 690 Einwohner hat Köln. Außerdem war Köln früher eines der führenden Zentren des weltweiten Kunsthandels. In der Nähe von Köln liegen diese Städte: Leverkusen, Belgisch Gladbach, Rösrath, Toisdorf, Niederkassel, Wesselinen, Brühl, Hürth, Frechen, Pullheim, Dormagen und Manheim.
Geschichte
Köln war der Statthaltersitz der Provinz Germania Inferior. Früher nannten die Römer Köln oppidum ubiorum. Die römische Kaiserin Agrippina, die am Rhein geboren ist, lies das oppidum ubiorum zur Stadt erheben. 80 v. Chr. Bekam Köln eines der längsten Aquädikten. Im Mittelalter war die Stadt die größte Stadt Deutschlands. Im zweiten Weltkrieg wurde viel von Kln zerstört.
Kunst und Sehenswürdigkeiten
In Köln sid viele wichtige Museen, Galerien, Kunstmessen und Kunst- und Musikszenen. Es gibt die Oper Köln, das Schauspielhaus, viele Chöre, den Kölner Dom und den Dreikönigenschrein. Die bekanntesten theater sind: das Arthater, das Atelier- Theater, das Drama Köln, das Gloria Theater, das Theater der Keller, das Theater zum Sachsenring, das Piccolo Puppenspiel, das Werkstatt Theater und das Casomax Theater. Es gibt noch ein Gürzenich Orchester und eine Kölner Philharmonie in Köln.
Verkehr
In Köln gibt es einen großen Fluhafen, viele Züge, Straßenbahnen, U- und S - Bahnen, Autos und Busse. Aber man kann auch mit dem Fahrrad schön herumfahren und zu Fuß in der Stadt spazieren gehen.
Regelmäßige Veranstaltungen
In Köln gibt es den großen Kölner Karneval, der großte Karneval in Deutschland. Der ist immer so gegen Februar in der Innenstadt. Außerdem gibt es noch das große Ringfest, den Summerjam, das Internationale Köln Comedy Festival und die jüdischen Kunsttage im Rheinland.
Essen
In Köln isst man sehr viel Fisch, wie Hering und Lachs. Aber auch Muscheln kölnischer Art, Hachse, Rheinischer Sauerbraten, Kölnischen Kaviar, Spargeln, Rievkooche, Rübenkraut, Halven Hahn und Tatar. Das alles ist sehr beliebt.
