The world's highest freestanding tower is Toronto's CN Tower. From the top of the building you can see the Niagara Falls (100 km), if the weather is clear.  It is extremely high. It has got an observation platform where the floor is partly made of glass. All this in a  450 meters hight.

There is also a good restaurant and a nightclub somewhere around 350 m. The view is astonishing from here as well.  You might think that the base of such a tower is boring, but CN Tower has got a cinema as well as a flight simulator on the ground floor. The simulator is amazing, but not after the restaurant, believe me...
