Arco de Teles is a small neighbourhood which showcases what Rio used to look like a long long time ago. An archway is the entrance to a series of narrow, cobbled streets, where beautiful colonial two-storey buildings have been turned into cafes, restaurants and bars.

It's nice to go there in the evening, when all the locales put chairs and tables in front of their entrances, so the streets end up looking like giant terraces.

It is usually crowded in the afternoon, when the people working in the nearby offices come to grab lunch or some drinks.
