Though only called a park, the William B. Umstead State Park is actually a small forest with hiking, bike and horse trails, picnic areas and a fish lake. It is a place of tranquility and calm where you can get away from the busy everyday life of the city and just have a couple of hours of retreat. This wild, yet well maintained area of trees, bushes and animals is truly the best you can find for some leisure and relaxation.

There are boating and camping opportunities, you just have to go when they are in season. Do visit the park, it i worth it!
