The Subject:

The art of photgraphing architectural masterpieces is a technique that requires dedication and discipline, Julius Shulman has perfected this art.

Initially published in 1962, this was Shulman's first book, and he still considers it to be his most genuine reflections on his profession and his own artistic philosophy.

Taking in structures from Richard Neutra to Frank Lloyd-Wright, this illustrated book guides us through many modernist masterpieces caught on Shulmans lens. Enhanced images from the original make this book a fascinating insight into the life and work of one of the most well known architectural photographers of this century.

A role model, André Kertész:

“I am an amateur and I intend to stay that way for the rest of my life." “Everything is a subject. Every subject has a rhythm. To feel it is the raison d'être. The photograph is a fixed moment of such a raison d'être, which lives on in itself.”

“The camera is my tool. Through it I give a reason to everything around me.”

You may even go up the “Big Ben” at night.  Stephen’s Tower is also another term of the Parliament’s clock tower.  The Big Ben tower shares its belfry with four bells which are smaller in...
