Yesterday I took a visit to the newly Dendrological Park inaugurated last week by the Oradea City Hall.
The park is situated in the north of Oradea Fortress and is open to the public since April 10.

Because of it's location near the Oradea Fortress, an important historical monument, the City Hall added information panels with history of the Oradea Fortress.

The landscaping was made with organic materials only, such as tree bark and natural stone, there is also a vast collection of plants, which is giving it's dendrological value.

Near the Golden Bastion of Oradea Fortress, is a small lake with aquatic vegetation and water lily flowers

This is a small step in giving back it's value, there is plenty of restoration needed to be done to the Oradea Fortress.

If you ever come near Oradea, you shouldn't miss this park.

The building of the cathedral meets the Eclectic-styled Palace of the Greek-Catholic Bishopric. Continuing your way across the Main Square, you must visit St. Ladislaus Church. This simple and clear-out Baroque styled Roman-Catholic church was once the cathedral of Oradea, from 1733, the year of its finalization, to 1780, when the Basilica was built and took over this function. The City Hall, a monumental building from the beginning of the 20th century, designed by Oradea’s then chief architect... Read more »
