by Well known city from the greek history. One of the biggest competitors of Athens, also in a military sense.
The modern city is like most of the other greek cities with a middle size. There're some nice posibilities for bars and restaurants, but typically for tourists. It is worth a short trip, at least because of the history of the city and the stories you may have heard, but it's not what you would expect to see in the great Sparti.
And spot, you should visit there is the medieval city of Mistra, that I found very beautiful, the rest is just the average.
