Lille History
During the 1970’s and 80’s the city experienced the problem of unemployment which increased rapidly until 1990. In 1994, the city of Lillie was inaugurated with a new name of Euralille. It shows that the city is the existing model of change. Lille was placed at the heart of North Western Europe as the fast trains operate for Brussels, Paris and London. In 1994, Lille was known to be the European Culture Capital and became the most visited tourist destination because of its hospitable environment, lively cultural life, and well-preserved inheritance.
