Short visit in Cambria, CA, California

We just got back from a 3 week holiday in the US and stayed in one of the nicest bed and breakfast along the way. Cambria is a town half way between Los Angeles and San Francisco. When we got there it was so foggy that we thought the signs for 'Vista Point' were funny. We easily found our bed and breakfast called J. Patrick House. Their website is http://www.jpatrickhouse.com/
In the evening, they had a wine hour with light snacks. At that time, they have available menus from the different restaurants in Cambria. Very useful.
We stayed at the Kerry room and because there is no internet nor TV it is the perfect getaway. The fireplace added to the romantic atmosphere while the freshly baked chocolate chips cookies and milk in the evening made it feel like you were at home. The room is a good size, clean, well-kept and decorated.
The breakfast the next morning was a meal in itself. Forget the European concept of breakfast. We had fruits and homemade granola to start in addition to coffee, tea and/ or orange juice. The homemade granola's are so good. This was followed by a baked egg souffle with freshly baked bread. The bread was heavenly. It was impossible to finish everything as the servings were huge. The owner John handles the breakfast and is extremely friendly.
If you ever think about where you should stop for a night while driving from LA to San Francisco, think no further....J Patrick House is the place (if they have availability!)

Bay City History
In the ensuing years, post its recognition as a city, Bay City’s development continued uninterrupted. This continued till the human race started realizing the ill-effects of tree-felling. Ship-building was the other key industry and it continued to influence Bay City’s economy until the last quarter of the 20th century. In fact, the Defoe Shipbuilding Company, which has produced many US naval vessels, was operating until 1975. Luxury yachts were also built... Read more »
