The beaches of Angra dos Reis, Brazil

    

Situated just 90 km from Rio and in the state of Rio de Janeiro, Angra dos Reis is most widely known as the gateway to an island paradise. Angra dos Reis, meaning King's Cove, was discovered in 1502 by Andre Goncalves, a Spanish explorer, although it wasn't settled until 1556.
