So for those who are already planning their Fourth of July, here are some suggestions on where to travel for Independence Day in 2011.
New Orleans, Louisiana
Last year, New Orleans was the top Independence Day destination in the US, and while this year it might yet be supplanted by some other destination, it will still be chock full of revelers who chose to celebrate the national day on the colorful and atmospheric streets of the Big Easy. Chicago’s Millenium Patk is the perfect place to watch Fourth of July fireworks, and indeed, this year this is the number one destination for Independence Day travel. Boston Harbor is another one of the top destinations for this year’s Independence Day, and the fireworks over the harbor are a phenomenal sight that everyone should see at least once in a lifetime.The events before Independence Day start on June 29, and they include exciting activities such as a chowderfest or extreme sailing competitions.
Las Vegas, Nevada
Never let it be said that Las Vegas doesn’t know how to celebrate – just picture the usual glow and sparkle of Sin City, then multiply it by 10, and you’ll see what the city looks like on Independence Day. There are more fireworks in Vegas than one can count, plus a huge number of pool parties and other activities.
