The waves have to be great, the weather equally so, and if there are other surfers with whom you can have some friendly competition, then all the better. Here are the top 5 surf spots in the world.
Gold Coast, Australia
When your country is one gigantic island-continent in the middle of the ocean, you’re bound to have some really good surf spots. Gold Coast City in Queensland is the perfect destinations, especially for those who are not completely obsessed with surfing, and would like to have some fun in the traditional way too (sightseeing, going out, etc.).There are over 70 km of beaches in Gold Coast, and four legendary point breaks for hardcore surfers (The Spit, Main Beach, Narrowneck, Palm Beach and Mermaid beach).
Mentawai Islands, Indonesia
The Mentawai archipelago has some 70 islands, and many of them are excellent destinations for surfers. If you are hunting for the biggest and meanest waves, head to one of the four main islands, Siberut, Sipora, North Pagi, and South Pagi, which lie between the open ocean and the mainland.
