The largest stat of the US it a place where even tourist attractions, be they natural or man-made, seem to be larger than life. The vast, sometimes icy expanses of Alaska are dotted with flourishing cities, friendly little town and remote villages, and it seems like wherever you step is close to some point of interest or another.Since Alaska is so big, and its attractions too many to count, we thought it might be useful to list the top 5 attractions in Alaska – check them out next time you’re in the Land of the Midnight Sun.
Denali National Park
If you like nature, trekking and hiking, then you should under no circumstances miss Denali National Park, an incredible wild area that preserves the best of natural landscapes and Alaskan fauna, such as grizzly bears, caribou, moose and wolves.The highlight of the park is Mt. McKinley, the tallest mountain in North America, called Denali by the Athabascan Indians.
Kodiak
Kodiak, the island borough, has a population of no more than 18,000, dispersed in one town (Kodiak) and seven tiny villages. Summers in Kodiak are possibly the greenest you’ll ever see, and the island is nicknamed Alaska’s ’emerald isle’. You can stay in town and enjoy the peace of Alaskan countryside, or rent a remote lodge and enjoy nature.
Kenai Peninsula

If you’re into camping and outdoor activities, then you should spend some time in Kenai Peninsula just south of Anchorage. This area of exceptional natural beauty is one of the most popular tourist destinations in the state, and it attracts not only hikers and trekkers, but also anglers lured by the great salmon and halibut fishing spots.
McCarthy
McCarthy is a historic ghost town located in Wrangell-St. Elias National Park, a mining town for the people who worked in the Kennecott copper mines at the beginning of the 20th century.
The town can be reached by way of the very scenic (if rather bumpy) McCarthy road, but you can also take a shuttle from nearby Chitina, but in any case, be prepared to do a lot of walking around historic sites and even some glaciers.

The largest city in Alaska is a must-see if you’re in the mood for some cultural activities, like visiting museums and galleries. Anchorage has an interesting historic town center, but the rest of the city is very spread out and airy.
There are several interesting museums in the city, for example the Alaska Native Heritage Center, or the Anchorage Museum of History and Art.
