We all watch movies and listen to music, and we all have our favorites among the rich and famous in Hollywood. Few people hope to ever meet their celebrity crushes, but nowadays it’s very possible that you should catch a glimpse of a famous actress or singer in the most unusual places.
Hollywood is not the only place where you are likely to see a celebrity strolling by, and you might be surprised how many celebrities go to the same holiday spots as regular people. Here’s a list of locations where you might just see a celebrity, so if you’re traveling to these places, keep your camera at hand!
1. St. Barthelemy
St Barthelemy is one of France’s overseas territories in the Caribbean, so predictably it combines the charm of the French Riviera with a twist of the Caribbean joie de vivre. Saint Barts is much appreciated for its pristine beaches, but it can be a bit on the expensive side. Celebrity sightings: Steve Martin, David Letterman, Jimmy Buffett.
2. Saint Tropez, France
The French coast has always been a good place for celebrity hunting, and Saint Tropez doesn’t disappoint in this respect. The town has something for everyone, so you don;t have to be a multimillionaire to enjoy yourself, but at the same time, there are pretty good chances of seeing a few multimillionaires strolling around.
3. Dubai, United Arab Emirates
Dubai looks like an incredibly rich city destined for the incredibly rich. The skyline of the city is dotted with either futuristic-looking sky-scrapers or mosques. It is a paradise for shoppers (after all, it is a city that invented a Shopping Festival), and it’s not surprising that the city is swarming with celebrities on holiday.
4. Miami
Miami can be anything you want, it just depends on your vantage point. It can be gritty, it can be seductive, and it can be glamorous. The beaches of Miami are great, the nightlife is electrifying and shopping centers abound. The hotels on Collins avenue are surely teeming with stars, but you might have to hang out in front of them until one of them comes out.
5. Capri Island, Italy
This tiny but exclusive island in the Tyrrhenian Sea is one of the likeliest places in Europe where you can bump into someone rich and famous. The island is picturesque and full of cultural and historical attractions. Mariah Carey has a villa in Capri, and Elizabeth Taylor and Brigitte Bardot are also partial to this island.
6. Barbados
In the unofficial hierarchy of Caribbean island, Barbados is always seen as the posh, ‘British’ one. The island sports some interesting historical sits and some truly amazing landscapes, but the west coast is where you will most likely see some of the entertainment industry’s hot shots.
7. Cabo San Lucas, Mexico
Cabo has some extremely clean, large and beautiful beaches, and some internationally renowned diving spots. Naturally, resorts are not lacking in Cabo, and the more fancy your accommodation, the higher the chances of accidentally running into someone famous.
8. Maui, Hawaii
Like virtually any of Hawaii’s islands, Maui is a tropical paradise that attracts tourists like flies. The landscape, the beaches, the activities are all enticing enough to make this island one of the top destinations in the US. The urban areas are smaller and more intimate than on the Big Island, so the resorts are more exclusive too – perfect for someone rich and looking for some anonymity.
9. Mallorca
Mallorca is without question one of the most beautiful islands in the Mediterranean, and obviously only those with hefty bank accounts can afford to buy a nice villa or mansion here. Michael Douglas and Catherine Zeta Jones are some of the famous seasonal residents of the island, but many other celebrities come here often.
