If you want to get a taste of a country’s natural sights, then visiting a national park is the best way to get it done, because you can be sure that you will see some truly photo-worthy sights. National parks are created for the preservation and display of places of exceptional national beauty, so most likely, each square meter of the park will reveal something worth looking at.
So if you want to cool off from the summer heat in a natural environment, here are the top 10 national parks in the world.
1. Yellowstone National Park, USA
There are many ways to describe the amazing Yellowstone, the first national parks of the US, but the most fitting is probably big. Everything in Yellowstone is larger than life, starting with its astounding beauty.

Bushwalking is the best way to explore Australia’s untamed beauty, and Kakadu National Park, Australia is the best possible place for it: eucalyptus forests, croc-infested rivers, and Aboriginal rock-art.

The lakes, fells, peaks and boulders of Lake District are the best of the British countryside with all its endearing quirks and quiet beauty, which has inspired for centuries travelers and artists.

As a huge park in a huge country, everything in Banff seems to come supersized, or at least in larger numbers than anywhere else. Keep an eye out for the local wildlife, it’s almost unavoidable to meet at least some of it.
9. Mungo National Park, Australia
The dry, deserted, downright prehistoric side of Oz is in plain view in Mungo National Park, a vast expanse of desert which looks even more deserted than deserts usually do, and utterly beautiful while at it.

Khao Yai National Park is very nice, but it still surprises me that it makes a top ten list. One thing that is true is that the wildlife is pretty accessible. It isn’t unusual to see wild elephants if you make trip into the park at night.
