The Tuscan countryside might not be at its best in February, but just because the weather is still a bit chilly it doesn’t mean that all the romanticism is gone. Tuscany is not only a pretty destination for those who like the outdoors, but also a place where you can cultivate your taste for fine art and cuisine. What is more romantic than admiring renaissance art in Florence and then heading to a restaurant to enjoy the pasta offerings of Italy?

If the essence of romance consists in lounging on a beach for you and your beloved, then February is a great time of the year to retreat to the sunny shores of the Maldives. Rent a water bungalow, go snorkeling, surfing and enjoy Maldivean cuisine.
As expensive as the Maldives tend to be, everything you get is the epitome of luxury. If you really want to pamper yourself and your better half, you can’t do better than the Maldives.
Monte Carlo
Does the dangerously glamorous atmosphere of casinos and the probability of glimpsing someone rich and famous sound romantic to you? If yes, then Monte Carlo is a great Valentine’s Day destination, even if you are not intending to squander your life savings on gambling. Don your ritziest evening clothes, invest in a good bottle of wine, and take your partner by the arm for a stroll in some of the most sophisticated places on the planet.

Of course that Paris is one of the most romantic destinations for Valentine’s Day, but so it is for most of the year.Luxury Paris is not difficult to achieve, seeing as there are plenty of boutique hotels and upscale restaurants to fill a weekend, but for an equally romantic and much cheaper alternative you could walk around Paris on the cheap.Visit the free attractions, get your meals from ethnic restaurants or produce markets – it’s Paris, and it will be romantic whatever you do!
