    Akihabara, an area of Tokyo, is known under the nickname of Electric Town, because at night it is lit up like the biggest Christmas tree on the planet, with adverts and shop logos everywhere. If you want to spend a blissful couple of days surrounded by the newest techno gadgets on the planet, this is the place to go. You can find everything tech-related here: computers, consoles, phones, games and a lot of comic books and animation DVDs.

    Challenger Space Center, Peoria, Arizona

    You  never got around to becoming an astronaut, but you’d still like to try a simulation at least? Then you should pack your bags for Peoria, Arizona, where the Challenger Space Center is located.

    You can take part in a simulated space mission, spend an evening gazing at the stars through a high-powered telescope and much more. It’s an especially great place for kids who like science.

    Mystery Spot, Santa Cruz, California

    If you are interested in unexplained phenomena, visit the Mystery Spot, a place where the laws of physics supposedly don’t apply. There are a number of demonstrations that are apparently aimed to demonstrate that gravity doesn’t really work as supposed to in that place, but actually it is a visual illusion – a great illusion, at that.

    Toy and Action Figure Museum, Pauls Valley, Oklahoma

    This museum was established with the help of a local toy maker and artist, and it is possibly the biggest action figure museum in the world. There are over 13,000 action figures on display from over the years, as well as cartoons drawn by some of the best cartoonists in the US.

    Sidi Driss Hotel, Matmata, Tunisia

    Fans of Star Wars probably know that Sidi Driss Hotel is one of the most famous filming sites for the first Star Wars movie. The hotels is a traditional Berber house built several centuries ago, and it was turned into a hotel that has all the decorations used in the film.
