NEMO, Amsterdam, Netherlands

NEMO is the largest science center in the Amsterdam, and the first rule you have to abide by when you visit it is that you’re forbidden not to touch. This museum/center started out with humble origins (it was a Museum of Labor in the 1920’s), but it has grown to be one of the most exciting destinations for science fans in the world. This ship-shaped center has interactive displays on chemistry (you can even try your hand at testing vitamin C or looking at DNA under the microscope).

The Exploratorium doesn’t focus only on science, but also on art and human perception, all looked at from a scientific lens. The website of the museum can give you a pretty good taster of what’s expecting you, but if you decide to visit it, you will be rewarded with experiments and demonstration, for example on mouse stem cells, making your own petroglyph, calculating your age and weight on other planets and much more.

Japan is one of the most technologically advanced country on the planet, so you can be sure that if you visit the National Museum of Emerging Science and Innovation, otherwise known as Miraikan, you’re in for a treat for you brain and your senses.

The Deutsches Museum in Munich is the largest science museum in the world, where a science fan can get lots in experiments and displays for days on end.

The displays are accompanied with detailed explanations and there are tours available, which will make you come to grips with insanely complex scientific phenomena.

Milan National Museum of Science and Technology of Leonardo da Vinci, Milan, Italy

Leonardo da Vinci was not only a great artist, but a groundbreaking scientist too, whose machineries and inventions still fascinate us even centuries after his time.

The museum is filled with da Vinci’s incredible work, and some of his wildest plans have been built and displayed here. There are some more modern exhibits as well, relating to nano materials and energy.
