    Just as Easter is a great time to spend some unforgeable moments with your family, get to taste all those long awaited goodies and, of course, get emerged in all those fascinating traditions and spiritual quests, the after Easter vacation invites you to indulge yourself with the joys of travel. If the period preceding Easter is all about lent, pray, and mourning, then the post-Easter week calls for some action.

    Whether you head for some exotic beach or your are doing your own pilgrimage (in this sense, the Bright Week is just as rich in traditions and religious manifestations as the Holy Week). You can also look at the Easter week as a time to detoxify your body from all those calorie bombs and say goodbye to this short, but truly inspiring all-you-can eat diet, which is so typical for holiday period. From all corners of the world, here come some original Easter Week destinations:

    Santiago de Chile

    It is also part of the Easter tradition – well, actually, of every holiday’s tradition- to do some charity work. Bringing your own contribution to revive the earthquake shaken economy of Chile is definitely a start. Not to mention that here in Chile you can witness some of the most interesting manifestations – more exactly, Santiago de Chile’s Quasimodo Celebrations. This joyful tradition taking place on the Sunday after Easter has its origins in medieval times, and consist in the morning service, followed by a colorful procession, dance and concerts.

    Trinidad & Tobago

    Easter holds a special place in the annual calendar of Trinidad&Tobago. Trinidad is famous for its unique Good Friday tradition, called the Beating of the Bobolee. Also, on Easter Tuesday, the natives of Tinidad gather in the small village of Buccoo to watch the traditional goat races. If you want to blend in between the locals, you can also try camping by the beach or enroll in a kite fight.

    Attending the Easter mass in Vatican’s San Pietro Square is a one in a lifetime experience.. However, if you didn’t get the time to be there in this very special day and get the Pope’s blessing, the Easter week is still a perfect time to visit Rome. Now that the Easter crowds are gone, you will be free to admire all those ancient monuments and be part of the cheerful, springy atmosphere that animates the Eternal City.

    Washington, DC

    As Easter came pretty early this year, you’ve still got chances to surprise this amazing season in its full splendor. There is still a week till the annual Cherry Blossom Festival in Washington ends, which means that you’ve go plenty of time to plan a short trip to the capital and reserve half a day just to contemplate the famous cherry tree orchard near the Capitol.
