At the moment Poland is a medical travel target for patients from the UK and Germany, but due to the privatization and commercialization of health care in the country medical tourism is expected to bloom in the following years.

Why is the Caribbean not a top destination for medical travel
The list of the top 10 destinations for medical travel in the last years start with Brazil, Costa Rica, South Korea, Malaysia and goes on without mentioning any country from the Caribbean.
Despite the fact that they educate many great doctors in the region, these countries still don’t really get their slice of the cake that made up more than 10% of the global GDP of 2013 and which is fashionably called the medical travel industry. Medical travel booming in South Korea in 2014
The huge and well-known Chinese cosmetics and beauty consulting franchise company called Mimi Consulting Corporation and nearly 450 CEOs from its over 200 chain stores will visit Daegu Medical City in South Korea during January 2014 to hold their annual consulting conference. This conference has – so far – been always held in China, so the event will mean a lot to Korea’s medical travel industry.
