  • Top 5 hotels for Super Bowl 2011

photo by MahangaThe countdown for the biggest sporting event of the year has begun! There are only a few weeks left until Super Bowl, and if you’re attending, I’m sure you can hardly wait. Many football fans travel for hundreds and even thousands of miles to see the game.

We still don’t know who will be playing, but seeing as it will be either the Jets or the Pittsburgh Steelers against the Green Bay Packers or the Chicago Bears, the game is guaranteed to keep you glued to your seats with excitement. And if you decide to see the Super Bowl at the Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, Texas, you should book a hotel room while you can still find any. Here are the top 5 hotels for Super Bowl 2011.

    The Days Inn

The Days Inn’s major advantage is its location right across the road from the stadium, which should please any fan that wants to be on time and beat the rush. The rate per night is about $350, which is quite reasonable at a hotel so close to the stadium, and there’s also a parking fee during the Super Bowl.

The minimum stay is 4 days, which gives you enough time for some sightseeing (and for the various parties around the city). It’s not the height of luxury, but you won’t be staying in your room much, and you also get 20% off if you book a room 2 weeks in advance.

    The Courtyard by Marriott

The Courtyard by Marriott is very close to the Cowboys Stadium (about 1 mile), and it is quite high class. Room rates vary between $160 and $280 for a suite, and more importantly, the hotel is within walking distance to the stadium. You can book a room for one or two days, and the parking space is complimentary. There’s also free wireless internet and free delivery from several nearby restaurants.

    The Holiday Inn Arlington

Here’s another hotel within walking distance of the stadium, and it provides accommodation that is almost as luxurious as you can hope for.Rates start from $200 per night, and there are free shuttle services to the stadium if you don’t feel like walking. Amenities include whirlpool tubs in every room, a fitness center, and the rooms are newly decorated and extremely comfortable.

    Sheraton Arlington Hotel

If you want a full service hotel, Sheraton is one of the closest ones to the stadium, although it probably won’t come cheap. The rooms are absolutely beautiful (modern decorations, granite tops, etc.), and there are three restaurants at the hotel, so you won’t even have to go out. In addition, there’s also an outdoor pool and spa.

    Century Inn

If you’re on a budget and you don’t particularly care about spending a long time in your room, Century Inn will do just fine for you. The inn is very close to the stadium (a little over half a mile), and you can find rooms for rates starting at $35. The rooms are clean and quite comfortable, and overall it’s a great value for money.

I wish that I was going to the game. Should be a good one but I think that the Packers are going to win. If you are going to the game I would recommend getting the DISH Network Remote access app. With this app and the sling adapter you can watch live streaming content on most smart phones. That would come in handy while waiting in those long security lines at the game. I work at DISH and got the app the day it was released.
