If you and your significant other love a little bohemian fun more than anything, than New Orleans is the best place for you for Valentine’s Day. The weather is very pleasantly temperate at this time of the year and there is nothing more colorful, mysterious and entertaining in the world than the famous French Quarter. California’s wine country is classy, elegant and a little rustic at the same time. If the two of you like great wines, tranquility and beautiful landscapes, this is the place for you. Sonoma and Napa got a large number of resorts and hotels for all tastes and budgets and nothing is very far from one or the other of the world famous wineries.

Now that we are talking about rustic, a ranch getaway can be as romantic and exciting as anything else, especially if you like animals and country life. Horse riding is just an amazing experience, but you can take long walks enjoying the silence and nature, watch the buffaloes graze, the large horsed of cattle. Discover your inner cowboy/ cowgirl and spice your escape with a little exercise by doing some farm work – if you have the opportunity.

Bring a little bit of Europe closer by visiting Montreal for Valentine’s Day. This central hub of the French Canadian culture is great for a romantic getaway with its beautiful Old Town, stylishness and lots of things to do for a couple. Walk on the cobbled streets and admire the well preserved buildings that are older than some of the largest cities in America. The city is a perfect choice for those who love French cuisine as well as it is loaded with French restaurants, one better than the other.

Valentine’s Day destinations around the world

If the two of you share an adventurous spirit and a love for all things wild, why not surprise yourselves with a romantic safari. It is a very exciting experience that you can live through together, you can see lions, elephants and more exotic animals together while in the ambiance of a safari resort would inspire passion in anyone. As it is winter time, you can also choose a destination where you can enjoy all the activities of the season on Valentine’s Day. One day you would go skiing, snowboarding, snowman-building or whatever you are into and the next day visit the city and admire the breathtaking architecture of the Old Town as well as the variety of restaurants and bars.

For a warmer and sunnier escape why don’t you consider Jamaica as your Valentine’s Day travel destination? It is relatively close to the US and it’s an affordable vacation idea due to a large variety of resorts even with all-inclusive services that are really not expensive. Jamaica is very warm at this time of the year and you two will love to hang out on the beaches, sip a couple of cocktails or visit come clubs in the evening. It is super romantic and you will go home with a sexy summer tan.

Bermuda is a similarly good choice and it is even closer, only a 2 hour flight away from some East Coast cities. As well as Jamaica, Bermuda also offers a large variety of resorts, they might not be so unusual destinations for Valentine’s Day, but you would surely have a great time. If it suits your budget you can stay a couple of nights in a luxurious resort and go on some relaxing spa treatments together.
