  • Best waterparks to visit this summer

Summer is drawing to an end, but we’ve still got a few months of sun and hot weather to enjoy. So if you haven’t yet visited a waterpark this year, you should hurry up. Serious swimmers might scoff at the idea, but waterparks are not really about sports, but pure, unadulterated fun.

And even if you can’t swim, you can find come watery game which will allow you to splash around without actually having to swim. In a nutshell, waterparks are like amusements parks: you can’t help but like them at least a bit, no matter your age. So here’s a list of the most spectacular waterparks that you could visit.

    Schlitterbahn Waterpark, US

There are several Schlitterbahn locations in the Texas and one in Kansas, so the general conclusion is that it’s pretty popular (seeing how dry and hot Texas is, it’s no surprise). But the Texan preference for water is not the only thing that made Sclitterbahn popular. Miles of water slides, gigantic hot tubs, watercoasters, as well as several quieter places where you can simply relax. Guests are allowed to bring their own food, and they get free tubes for the amateur snorkellers.

    Wet’n Wild Water World, Australia

Wet'n Wild Water Park AustraliaWet’n Wild is the largest waterparks in Australia, and the third largest in the entire world. That means that you get four immense pools and 15 different attractions, some of which can’t be found in any other waterparks in the world. The most interesting part of Wet’n Wild is the Extreme H2O Zone, where each attraction has slightly scary names like Kamikaze, Tornado and Blackhole.

There are pirate-themed kids’ areas, a Calypso beach a giant wave pool and lots of other things. The park is open all year round, and the water is heated in the winter (not that the temperature is that low in winter, considering that the park is located in the Gold Coast).

    Chime-Long Water Park, Guangzhou, China

waterpark chinaThe biggest water park in the world is a must-visit for hardcore waterpark fans. In addition to being large, the park is supposedly equipped with the most advanced water rides and attractions you can find anywhere. It is also the first waterpark in the world to use an ozone water cleaning system, making it fun as well as safe.

Most of the rides in the park are pretty spectacular, and many of them are not recommended to the weak of heart. If you’re not particularly adventurous, you can lounge in a pool and enjoy the lively mood.

    Sunway Lagoon, Petaling Jaya, Malaysia

Sunway Lagoon is both a water park and a regular amusement park, all in one. The parks were opened in 1993, and since then new rides have been regularly added to the list of attractions. The waterpark itself is African themed, and features rides like Congo Challenge, Cameroon Climb, African Pythons, Elephant Walk, Sunway Surf Beach.

The water park is quite fun, if not overly original, and you can always pop next door to the Wild Wild West section of the amusement park, or watch a 3D horror flick at the Scream Park.

    Seagaia Ocean Dome, Miyazaki, Japan

seagaia japanSeagaia is the world’s largest indoor warterpark, right next to the beach. It might seem a bit redundant to built a water park near the ocean, but Japanese summers can be notoriously fickle and downright unpleasant, apparently, what with the rainy season and the much too moist air.

Under the dome you will have a permanently blue sky over your head, air conditioning, and hi-tech attractions such as a flame-spitting volcano, awsome wave machinery and sand that doesn’t stick to your body.
